This DVD features many of the original, amazing illusions of The Hamners and several unique and hilarious comedy routines of ventriloquist Jim Barber as performed live in their Branson, Missouri theater.

Also included are intriguing interviews with the stars as they discuss their history and share early career videos. Bonus features include official show promotional material and sage advice for young performers.

Live show portions of the DVD were videotaped in front of an actual theater audience with five high-resolution, broadcast quality cameras, providing a better view of the action than if you were watching from a front row seat.

The Hamners, featured on NBC's World's Greatest Magic, perform some of their original, award winning illusions that they have become famous for. Though some of these illusions may be somewhat intense in nature, they are presented in a manner that will not frighten the younger or sensitive folks in the audience.

In "VERTIGO," for example, Denise is raised fifteen feet in the air above a table of deadly, surgical steel spikes suspended only by a thin, glass panel. In the meantime, Dave is chained inside a separate box with more spikes slowly squeezing though it to impale whatever would be in the way. Once the spikes have squeezed through the box, they release a mechanism on the table of spikes which will cause the glass panel to open, dropping Denise to the spikes below in an instant. Dave's challenge is to escape from the chains as well as the box, and stop the mechanism in time to save his brave and daring bride. You'll be amazed at what actually happened during this performance of the illusion, and you'll only see it here, on this DVD.

Jim Barber performs his classic routine, "The Barber & Seville," where Jim appears to be the "dummy" with a six-foot tall "ventriloquist" named Seville carrying him on stage to sing an opera. A third character named Diva joins the action, singing soprano along with the other two voices. Jim Barber is the originator of this effect where he is the dummy, and has performed it around the world and on many national television shows. It's a wacky and hilarious routine, and available exclusively here, in the Hamner Barber Video Collection.

Another original Hamner illusion is entitled, "STARGATE." In this amazing effect, Denise is placed in an unusual cabinet that reminds one of some type of science fiction space vehicle. The cabinet then separates into multiple sections leaving a black hole of empty space in the middle where Denises body should be. The exotic dancing, fiber optic lighting and customized music set the mood for this incredible effect.

When Jim Barber brings his dog "Chico" onstage, there's no telling what this contentious canine will say next. Jim first introduced Chico on the Vicki Laurence tv talk show series, Vicki!. He then developed the routine while performing with Glen Campbell's Goodtime Show in Branson and it has now become another classic character that Jim has become famous for. You might be suprised to hear how Jim was inspired to create this funny dog as he shares an interesting and educational experience he had while a student in college.

One of the reasons that the Hamners stand out from other magicians or illusionists is their ability to take a traditional magical concept and adapt it to create something entirely new and present it in a way that is both spectacular and theatrical.
