Congratulations to Tom Mullica for being invited to help dedicate the Grand Opening Celebration of the new Red Skelton Museum & Education Center in Red’s hometown of Vincennes, Indiana. The special event takes place this Thursday, July 18, 2013, on what would have been Red’s 100th birthday.
The Birthday Celebration will begin at 7:30pm in the beautiful Red Skelton Theater with an all-star cast paying tribute to America’s Favorite Clown. Red’s close friend, actor Jamie Farr of TV’s M*A*S*H fame will perform in addition to Tom Mullica’s amazing tribute performance as Red Skelton himself. Musical guests Sally Harmon and Frank Gruner will also perform, as well as a very special appearance by Red’s wife Lothian Skelton.
Full details of the event can be found at RedSkeltonMuseum.org.
The Red Skelton Museum is located on the Vincennes University Campus in Vincennes, Indiana, right next door to the Red Skelton Performing Arts Center, a state of the art concert theater complete with classroom facilities.
Guests will experience interactive, educational displays honoring Red’s art and philosophy, as well as the importance of his wholesome family entertainment which has generated humor and laughter around the world for decades. Red was not only one of America’s most brilliant radio, television, and motion picture stars; he was also an extremely talented artist, an outstanding composer, a man of the highest principals, a staunch patriot, a man of deep abiding faith, and outstanding philanthropy.
Way to go Tom, and congratulations on this huge honor! We are proud of your accomplishments and excited for this amazing opportunity to dedicate the new Red Skelton Museum! It is truly an honor to have your incredible tribute show in our Branson theater!
